Women’s Groups

Simpsonwood is strongly committed to its ministry to women.  Every woman in our church, and even non-church members in our community, is welcome to be part of the United Methodist Women (UMW). So, if you are a woman ...

  • who finds meaning in her church and is drawn into its fellowship,
  • whose life is packed full of activity and obligations,
  • who juggles jobs and family, and tries to be faithful to both,
  • who wants to combine classroom study with significant fellowship and outreach opportunities,
  • who feels she has gifts which are wasted or undeveloped,
  • who wants to be accepted for who she is, and
  • who needs a supportive community to affirm her own sense of purpose and commitment to God,

Then, Simpsonwood’s women’s groups may be just for you!  Participating with this group of committed women is a unique opportunity to move in harmony with other women.

Get Involved!

An Invitation to Volunteer

If you are new to Simpsonwood UMC or if you have been a member but have not been very active and find yourself wanting to get involved in local missions we have many ways for you to become a volunteer.  Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for you to find ways to help those who are in need.  Helping through volunteering is a wonderful way to get to know people in our church and to enjoy the fellowship that belonging to a church family brings.

We have posted on our website the local missions that Simpsonwood United Methodist Women (SUMW)  will be concentrating on this year. SUMW has scheduled visits to each of these three organizations throughout the year but I want you to know that if you can’t volunteer on the scheduled days we have listed there is an alternative.  The days and hours that volunteers can support these missions (Saturdays are included) are listed on the page explaining what each organization is about –Missions we Support.

Also, please know that every fund raiser we have is to raise money for the mentioned charities plus many others.  If you will give of your time and talents to help support the UMW in their events it really does make a difference.

If you would like additional information on any of the missions or how you can become involved with UMW please contact Marilyn Mraz  or the Simpsonwood UMW Email Address.

Blessings to you and your family, I hope you will consider volunteering,

Marilyn Mraz, President
