Mark your calendar and tell your friends. Beginning on May 28 through Labor Day, September 4, 2017 our worship schedule has changed. During the Summer months we’ll be combining our Sunday worship services into a single service at 10 AM. Our Summer services will feature a variety of music styles.

Sunday school classes will be held from 9 to 9:50 AM.

Sunday on Monday

We will also have Sunday on Monday Services throughout the Summer with the following exception of Labor Day, September 4, 2017.

Beginning Sunday, September 9, SUMC will have two services each Sunday rather than three services. We will have one Contemporary Service at 8:45 a.m and one Traditional Service at 11:00 a.m.

The church leadership made this decision for two primary reasons. First, we have heard across the spectrum of SUMC members that our church is currently “spread too thin” across three services.  Staff members and volunteers are currently over-utilized in trying to provide preaching, music, sound, and display for three services.  Also, church members have enjoyed the energy and “strength in numbers” when we have combined services. Second, we are prayerful that having two services will bring renewed energy and momentum to our worship as we pool the strengths and talents of our staff, volunteers, and worship participants.

The 8:45 Band and the Renew Band will continue to provide music on an alternating basis for Contemporary worship.  Currently, the plan is to continue offering Sunday on Monday worship services in the Fall as well.  Additionally, the church leadership will be studying the worship needs of our church and community as they move forward into the future.

Please continue to pray for our church as we navigate the waters of change in the coming weeks.  We are prayerfully confident that the best days for SUMC are still ahead!
