New this Year – Make It, Bake It, Take It has Been Moved to Sunday Afternoon
2:00 – 4:00 PM on November 5, 2017
Simpsonwood UMC Family Life Center, Building C
SUMC United Methodist Women (UMW) are hosting Make It, Bake It, Take It for the 16th year. Proceeds from this annual “FUNraiser” event support UMW missions that serve women and children.
All Women and Teens are Welcome
Make It Bake It Take It is an excellent opportunity for UMW members to reach out and invite friends and women in our community to join us for fellowship, good food and an exciting raffle of a variety of handmade or nearly handmade (“faked”) gift items. Many of these items are excellent gifts for teachers, friends and family.
Beautiful gifts are raffled including paintings, handmade jewelry, knitted and crocheted items, baked goods, as well as a variety of tempting and clever gift baskets. Conversations and laughter flow as attendees delight in seeing the creative offerings that participants bring to the event.
Refreshments are served (UMW Members bring sweet or salty snacks to share), as women gather, browse and bid on their favorite gift items from the display.
Here is How Make It Bake It Take It (Fake It) Works:
- Tickets are $5 and each person brings two gift items to contribute for the bidding.
- Each $5 ticket for the event includes 10 tickets for bidding
- Competition rises for the most popular items as the event progresses and additional tickets for bidding are on sale during the event
Great Fun and Fellowship for a Great Cause
Join a fun bunch of ladies for some wonderful fellowship while raising money to help other women and children. No one leaves empty handed. If you don’t have time to knit, sew, paint, bake or create something new, consider assembling a gift box or basket that you would like to give or receive as a holiday gift (and we won’t tell if you are “re-gifting”).
