Women’s Ministry is Gearing Up with Events and Education

1.  Women’s retreat next year

Save the date!  There will be a women’s retreat open to all women of February 24 – 26 at Camp Glisson.  Mark your calendars now and plan to spend the weekend in a beautiful place with other women of the church as we explore faith together.  More details will be available soon on how to register.  With questions, please contact Rev. Susan Allen Grady

2.  Advent Study for Women

Jeannie DeVries and Susan Pugh will lead an Advent-themed small group for women starting Sunday, November 13.  Using the book, Our Hope Has Come: Celebrating the Promise of Advent, this study takes a closer look at the Christmas story and the hope revealed in the lives of people in the Bible whose obedience and yeses to God’s plans, even in difficult times, gave them great joy and led to God’s glory in their lives and generations to come. As we explore the hope that Jesus brings, we’ll learn to trust God’s care for us as His beloved children in both times of abundance and times of lament.  This 5-session study will begin before Thanksgiving so that it can be finished by Sunday, December 18, with  a one-week break for Thanksgiving.  To register and order a book, contact Lindsey Evans in the church office: levans@simpsonwoodumc.org.

3. Women’s short term small group study coming in January!

LIFT (Ladies In Fellowship Together) will begin on Wednesday, January 11, and meet weekly through Wednesday February 1 to study The Gifts of Imperfection by Brene Brown.  More information on how to register for this group is coming soon!  Questions can be sent to Sherri Boucher: sherrisboucher@gmail.com
